Korea Chile Free Trade Agreement
Chile and Korea announced their intention to negotiate a free trade agreement at the 1999 APEC Meeting of Heads of State and Government in Auckland, New Zealand. They held six rounds of negotiations and frequent technical meetings. The last round of negotiations was held in Geneva from 17 to 21 October 2002. The agreement was signed on 15 February 2003. At the ninth meeting of the Free Trade Commission of the Chilean-Korean Free Trade Agreement on July 23, 2015, representatives of Chile and South Korea discussed opportunities to further improve their free trade agreement signed 11 years ago. On this occasion, the parties committed to define the steps and steps that will lead to the deepening of their trade agreement. Similarly, they agreed on a preliminary meeting, scheduled for November 2015, to define the conditions for the process of deepening the agreement.
